What is your experience in the field?

The majority of my professional experience is in defense and aerospace, working on mixed signal RF systems. Prior to Tensentric, my medical device experience was working on a navigated liver tumor ablation system.

What do you like about working at Tensentric?

I think the best part is the unique company culture. It’s very easy to tell that everyone enjoys working here, and I think the culture plays a large part in that.

If you couldn’t be an engineer, what would you be? Why?

I would probably be a teacher. I find it rewarding to teach and mentor others, and having the entire summer off is a great perk.

What unique set of skills do you bring to Tensentric?

My background in aerospace and defense allows me to bring a different perspective on systems engineering to the team. I’m a systems engineering nerd, and I’m always looking for ways to learn and apply my skillset in different ways.

What hobbies or non-work activities are you most passionate about?

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring Colorado with my wife and dog. We go hiking and camping in the summer and skiing and snowboarding (minus the dog) in the winter. I also have a large list of home improvement projects to keep me busy when we’re home.

When you were in elementary school, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I had many different ideas as a kid, but I really wanted to be an architect for a while. I remember I bought some architecture software for designing houses, and I made a couple for school projects. My career aspirations changed once I realized a house with an indoor pool and skate park wasn’t realistic.

Where are you from and how did you end up in Colorado?

I grew up in Vermont then settled in Upstate New York after college. My wife and I moved to Denver a few years ago when we decided we wanted to live in a larger city. Our plan was to only stay for a year or two before moving back east, but we love it here so much we decided to stay indefinitely.

If you could join one rock band, which one would you join and why?

The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Their Live at Winterland album is what got me into classic rock, and Jimi was a revolutionary musician. Plus, it’d be a pretty short gig, so I’d have a chance to do other things in life.
