Tensentric has continued our proud tradition of our Partners in Caring (PIC) program by giving back a portion of 2020 profits to charitable causes. We make a point of paying it forward and investing in our community.
Before Christmas in 2020, one PIC donation of $5000 went to MaxMods, a Colorado nonprofit founded to assist people with physical limitations with modifications and adaptions of toys and devices. This donation enabled them to cover shipping costs of a universal toy activation switch for each recipient of an adapted that they sent out to those in need for the holidays. The 2020 summer Tensentric intern class designed the switch working with MaxMods to understand all of the user needs and reliability requirements, including designing for manufacturability and the switches are currently in production (https://www.maxmods.org/aac-switch).
The second PIC check, issued early in 2021, went to the Shelby Allen Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $15,000 to support a future endowment of the scholarship. Tensentric presented the check to Shelby’s parents, Mike and Suzi, on March 2nd 2021. We were honored to support the scholarship, which aims to help preserve the legacy of Shelby Allen, a volunteer first responder who dedicated her life to serving her local community (http://www.shelbyallen.org).
