• Medical Software Framework – a product independent platform to be utilized in a line of multi-parameter patient monitors
• Development of operating system layer supporting the AMX, Nucleus, and MS Windows operating systems
• Developed a network manager subsystem to support communication over a proprietary hospital network

• Developed software for embedded medical equipment based on Motorola 68332, Hitachi H8 and TI TMS320C32 DSP including oximeter, nitric oxide delivery system, anesthesia gas monitor and non-invasive blood pressure module

What’s the most interesting Medical Device project you’ve worked on and why?

IV pump: the first medical device I ever worked on. Up until that point, I had worked on mainly defense contracting projects. It was new to work on a real product. It was fulfilling to work on because it was being sold in burn units in hospitals. We also made a pump for children. It was a huge shift in gears for me, and it was really fulfilling to see the product impact people’s lives for a change. Medical device teams tend to have people who are invested in the outcome, almost providing a moral good.

What do you like about working at Tensentric?

Mainly, it is the good people. I like working within an organization with good people I’m familiar with and have worked with over the years.

What unique set of skills do you bring to Tensentric?

I’ve had reviews where management has told me that I am the glue that holds the project together. I’ve also had managers tell me that I don’t know how to do a bad job; I always do a good job. Engineering can be painful at points, and I am always willing to work through those difficult times. I am not discouraged by the hard times.

What do you like most about living in Colorado?

I really like the snow, but it’s nice that the snow doesn’t stick around. I like that the winters and summers are not extreme.

When you were in elementary school, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a fireman. I had an uncle who was a fireman, and I was able to go to the firehouse (wasn’t able to slide down the fireman’s pole though).
